33 Weeks

33 weeks down, ??? to go.  If we’re not already there, we’re soon to be at the “baby gaining 1/2 a pound a week stage.”  I can’t speak for baby, but I’m gaining AT LEAST 1/2 a pound a DAY, all in my feet.

Help -- my baby ate my ankle bone!

That’s really my only complaint right now, though.  I’m enjoying our childbirth prep classes and feeling more confident that we’ll be ready when baby joins us.  We’re taking Naturally Prepared childbirth classes, which focus on home births.

In two weeks, we have our in-home prenatal appointment with our midwives at River City Birth.  All of the other visits have been in their office, which is conveniently located a short bike-ride away!

Thanks 🙂 I discovered over the weekend that the swelling is really only a problem when I’m sitting all day (i.e., at work). If I’m up and moving and on my feet, little or no swelling (though they are a bit tired by the end of the day). M goal is to take more walking/movement breaks at work.

You’re looking great! I’m at 33 weeks now too and swelling in my legs is my biggest complaint these days. I thought the walking and bike riding would help with that as it keeps the blood flowing and circulating but no such luck. Hope you continue to do well in the remaining weeks and good luck with the natural birth! It’s what I’m aiming for as well 🙂

I’ve had a lot of people recommend swimming for help with blood flow and swelling. My goal is to try the pool this weekend.
