Bike to Work Day

The last Bike to Work Day when I actually biked to work was probably May 2009, which predates this blog.  The past three years, I worked a Monday through Thursday job, and the official “day” is always a Friday.  It would have been a moot point anyway, since I traded my bike commute (when almost everyday was bike to work day) for a car commute when I took that job.

Anyhow, despite the lack of a job to bike to, I did enjoy the opportunity for a nice morning bike ride to a refueling station at least one of those years.  Tomorrow morning’s plans don’t include being out and about early enough to visit one of the stops, but we’ll be on our bike later in the day.

Going to the playground is a hard job, but somebody’s gotta do it!

Where are you riding today?  Or where have you ridden this week?

  1. On Mother’s Day, the four of us rode to Grant’s Farm and back. My favorite Mother’s Day so far!!

Sounds like a great way to spend Mother’s Day!

Well, CatMan’s rehab is coming along nicely, so we’ve been able to take a few rides together again. It’s nice, but I fear I’ve gotten a bit out of shape these past 2 months without him pushing me! At the moment I’m waiting for him to call, and I’m pretty sure we have a ride on tap for this afternoon. Maybe we’ll make it to the top of Chatfield Dam – which would be 30 miles… c’mon legs, don’t fail me now! 🙂

Other than that, I’ve been using my old Trek for errands as much as possible. I’ve scouted routes to 2 grocery stores and the thrift store… it’s been great fun! If it weren’t for the need to haul ridiculous amounts of cat food and litter, I don’t think my car would get used at all!
